Boezemkring Teaser
At the reunion of a wayward women’s sorority, the youngest members get a sharp lesson in love, freedom, and sisterhood. Boezemkring stars the late Dieuwertje Blok in her final role, and was written by renowned author Ronald Giphart and his daughter Tip, and directed by emerging talent Ayla van Kessel. The film beautifully embodies the foundation’s mission: where new talent learns from experienced makers to create something truly special.
short film ‘A MAN WALKS INTO A BAKERY’
If you are part of a writers group and you want to try your hand on your very first film? At Equs we gave writer/director Marijn Liek the chance of creating his story into a short film resulting in the amusing ‘a man walks into a bakery’. The famous Dutch comedian, musician and actor Thomas van Luyn took the lead and with his facial expressions he guides the audience towards a very common problem; choice overload!
short film ‘THE RECEDER’
For our crew this short horror comedy about a young man who loses his hair, was a dream come true (and a lot of hard work). We build a set in a studio, our special effects team had a field day with creating an artificial mouth, a stuntman had to literally walk into a mirror and we disguised one of Hollands most famous actors to being unrecognisable. The film was bought by the horror site Alter and is still seen there. Oh and we shot it during Covid, so for production this was the toughest we ever did.
short film ‘DISGRACED’
On the set of SREWED we met the new talented director Raymon Hilkman who was just graduating his studies at the HKU. He asked us if we could be his co-production partner for his graduation ‘disgraced’. It resulted in a very personal film about a girl who fell in love with a german soldier during World War II. This film is being used as educational material for schools.
short film ‘SCREWED’
For our talent development program we created a short silent comedy that was shot in Amsterdam. Written by the very experienced copywriter Peter Oostra, who with this film tried his hand on his very first short film script. Directed by the talented Tim Schijf with the amazing Matin Dadfar as the leading man. This film was a joy to make and a great learning process for everyone involved.
Short Docu ‘WASIM’
The international artist Wasim Arslan shares in this short documentary his story of fleeing his country because of a horrible war and the way music saved him.
Short film ‘THE BRIDE’
For the international 48 hour competition the Equs team created a short film within 48 hours. The selected genre was fantasy, the obligatory prop a broom and the obligatory phrase was ‘you still have much to learn’. Within 48 hours a script was written, the film was shot ànd edited. A very stressful yet very fun project for the entire crew and cast.
Teaser ‘MOTH’
One of our very first experimental short films for Equs Short Film Foundation (then still called IFAN). The talented Tess Löwenhardt directed this short film with the great Joris Smit. It was an amazing journey with a very dedicated crew. We made this film without lots of money so we had to have lots of creativity.
